UNIVERSITY COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS

The 2008-2009 University College scholarship applications are available for pick-up at University College, Office of the Dean, Scott Park, 2050 Academic Services Center or at Office of College Relations, Scott Park, 1290 Academic Services Center, or University College Student Services Office, Scott Park.  Applications are also available online at http://www.utoledo.edu/ucollege/University_College_Scholarships.html. Application deadline is March 12, 2008. Questions may be directed to Cathy Zimmer, Director of College Relations, at 419.530.3202 or cathy.zimmer@utoledo.edu.

Note: All need-based scholarships require that a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) be on file by April 1. Students may complete the FAFSA on the web at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov or students may contact the Office of Student Aid at 419.530.8700. The University of Toledo school code for completing the FAFSA is 003131.

Information provided on each scholarship is subject to change.

 

Nancy Walbridge Brown and Ruel Brown Jr. Scholarship Fund

Recipients shall be U.S. citizens who are second, third, or fourth-year undergraduate students. Preference will be given to students in the College of Arts and Sciences, University College, and the College of Business Administration. Students must have and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher and may be part-time or full-time. Applicants must submit one typed letter of recommendation. Applicants are encouraged to submit up to two additional letters of recommendation addressing either personal or academic abilities. Application deadline is April 1.

Joanne L. and Ralph C. Cline Scholarship Fund

Scholarship for students in University College. Recipients shall be non-traditional students who are age 30 or over, returning to college. First preference is to women over age 30 who are starting a new career or business.


Dean Mary Ann Heinrichs Alumni Scholarship

Scholarships for sophomore, junior, or senior students who have an approved program and are enrolled full-time or part-time in University College. Scholarship is based on academic achievement.


Elaine and Amos Patterson Scholarship

Scholarship for undergraduate female students age 25 or older. Applicants must be enrolled in University College. Priority will be given to students returning to college, although students beginning college studies in a program in University College will also be considered. Recipient must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and should demonstrate academic intent and academic potential for degree success. Preference will be given to those with the greatest financial need. A student can only receive this scholarship twice.

Edith Rathbun Scholarship

This scholarship is for adult (25 years or older) female students pursing a degree through University College. May be part-time or full-time students with financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid.

William and Jean Vaughn Scholarship Fund

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be an incoming University College student or currently enrolled in an approved program of study.  Applicants must have financial need and determination to obtain a college education.  Grade point average is not a requirement.  This scholarship is non-renewable but applicants may re-apply.

 

Women’s Advertising Club of Toledo Scholarship

To be eligible applicant must be a female student enrolled in University College. Preference will be given to juniors and seniors. Applicant's degree of focus should reflect an interest in outreach (advertising, public relations, marketing, broadcasting, interpersonal communication). Recipient must be a permanent resident of the Greater Toledo Area.
