Transfer Scholarship & Awards
Unless otherwise specified, to be considered for these scholarships and awards, you must submit the following:
- Completed and signed UT application for admission
- $40 nonrefundable admission application fee
- Official transcripts from ALL colleges/universities attended (must submit high school transcripts if less than 8 semester transfer credit hours attempted)
- A completed 2009-2010 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required for all awards with the exception of the Out-of-State Award and the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
UT Achievement Award
- Award: Variable award amount ranging from $1,000 - $5,000 per year for full-time enrollment. Your award may vary based on merit and financial need.
- Minimum Requirements: 3.0 higher education GPA; full time enrollment.
- Additional Documentation Required: A FAFSA is required for scholarship consideration.
- Renewal Requirements: Minimum 3.0 GPA and 30 UT credit hours each academic year. In most instances, the maximum length for this award is four semesters, not to exceed two consecutive calendar years or the completion of an undergraduate degree, whichever comes first.
Note: This award is not stackable with the Out-of-State Award or the Prestige Transfer Scholarship.
Out-of-State Award
- Award: $8,800 per year for full-time enrollment.
- Minimum Requirements: 2.75 higher education GPA; full time enrollment.
- Renewal Requirements: Minimum 2.75 GPA and 30 UT credit hours each academic year. In most instances, the maximum length for this award is four semesters, not to exceed two consecutive calendar years or the completion of an undergraduate degree, whichever comes first.
Note: This award is not stackable with the UT Achievement Award or the Prestige Transfer Scholarship.
Prestige Transfer Scholarship
- Award: Variable award up to $8,000 per year for full-time enrollment. This selective award will be given to top students transferring to UT based on higher education GPA, curriculum, and financial need. Preference is given to honor society members. Funding for this scholarship is limited, competitive, and selective. To be considered for this scholarship, your UT application must be received by May 1, 2009.
- Minimum Requirements: 3.5 higher education GPA; 30 or more semester hours of transfer credit; transferring from a 2-year or 4-year institution; full-time enrollment.
- Additional Documentation Required: The FAFSA is required for consideration. Proof of honor society membership (if applicable).
- Renewal Requirements: Minimum 3.0 GPA and 30 UT credit hours each academic year. In most instances, the maximum length for this award is four semesters, not to exceed two consecutive calendar years or completion of an undergraduate degree, whichever comes first.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
- Award: $1,000 per year.
- Minimum Requirements: 3.75 transfer GPA from the institution of Phi Theta Kappa induction; Phi Theta Kappa membership; full-time enrollment.
- Additional Documentation Required: Proof of Phi Theta Kappa membership.
- Renewal Requirements: Minimum 3.0 GPA and 30 UT credit hours. In most instances, the maximum length for this award is four semesters, not to exceed two consecutive calendar years or completion of an undergraduate degree, whichever comes first.
Note: This award may be stacked with the Out-of-State Award or the UT Achievement Award.
