Listed below are scholarships and awards offered to new
University of Toledo students. In addition to these and the
Admission
Scholarships and Awards, each academic college offers its
own set of scholarships and awards to new students. After you
review the list below, be sure to check out what may be
available from your college in our

Please note that all need-based scholarships require that a
completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) be on
file by April 1st. Students can either
file a FAFSA online or
request a paper application from the Office of Student Financial Aid
at 419.530.8700. The University of Toledo school code for completing
the FAFSA is 003131.
Information provided on each scholarship and award is subject to
change.

Joseph and
Virginia Altschuller Scholarship Fund
Scholarships for full-time entering freshmen
in any area of study. First preference will be given to graduates of Woodward
High School. Second preference will be given to graduates of schools in Lucas
County, Ohio. Applicants must have a minimum high school GPA of 2.75.
Scholarship is renewable for three additional years if recipient remains
full-time and maintains a 2.75 GPA or higher. Scholarship is based on need and merit. Application
deadline is April 1.

Army ROTC: 4-Year Reserve Officer Training Corps
Scholarship
Scholarships for high school students who desire to enhance
their college education by enrolling in the Army ROTC program. Juniors
and seniors are both eligible and must apply no later than November 15 (for
the next year). Results will be released by March 1.

Army ROTC: On-Campus Reserve Officer Training Corps
Scholarship
Scholarships for outstanding freshmen students who
demonstrate academic excellence and/or display leadership qualities. A
GPA of 2.5 and an ACT score of 19 (SAT 850) are required. Must notify
ROTC office by December 15 of their senior year.

Art Interest, Inc. Scholarship Fund
Scholarship for an outstanding entering freshman studio art
or art education major based on talent and academic achievement. A portfolio
review and a minimum GPA of 2.5 are required.

Thomas Baither Family Scholarship
Divided equally between the Colleges of Business Administration and
Education. The freshman recipient
shall have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and minimum ACT score of 20.
Recipients shall be undergraduate students who have graduated from a
Northwest Ohio or Southeast Michigan high school.
Upper class recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Also based on financial need.
Scholarship is renewable based on the minimum GPA requirement.
May be applied to any and all educational expenses.

Frank and Molene Baker Family Scholarship
For African-American students
who will be entering freshmen from Northwest Ohio. Preference will be given to
students from high schools in the metropolitan Toledo area who demonstrate
financial need, good character, and citizenship. Applicants must have a
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file with the Office of
Student Financial Aid (OSFA) by April 1.

Beilstein Scholarship Fund
For full-time undergraduate UT students who
live in Northwest Ohio. Based on financial need and academic
merit. Applicants must write a 250 word essay focusing on
their need and worthiness for the award. At least one
recipient must be a direct from high school graduate of a
Toledo public high school. Past recipients may reapply.

George C. Beinke Scholarship
Scholarships for full-time freshman students of the
Christian faith, residing in Lucas County, Ohio. Based on financial need and
academic achievement. Deadline for application is April 15 of each year.

Beyer Sibling Scholarship
To be eligible for consideration, applicants
must have one or more undergraduate siblings in the same
household who will be attending The University of Toledo in
the same academic year. Full-time and part-time entering
freshmen, transfer students and current UT students are
invited to apply for this $1,000 need-based scholarship.
(The scholarship will be pro-rated to reflect part-time
enrollment.) Applicants must have a college GPA of 2.5 or
higher (entering freshmen must have a high school GPA of 2.5
or higher) and must demonstrate financial need. It is
possible to receive this scholarship for more than one year,
however, past recipients must apply each year to be
considered for renewal. Applicants must have a current
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file
in the Office of Student Financial Aid. The priority
deadline for filing the FAFSA with the Department of
Education is April 1.

Marianne
Bigney Scholarship Award in German Studies
First year students
entering The University of Toledo who have completed three
years of German study in high school or abroad and
maintained a B average in those German courses may apply.
The awards are based on academic merit.
Preference will
be given to students who have declared a major or minor in
German at The University of Toledo. Recipients must complete an average of one
German course at the intermediate level or above each term during the award year and
earn a B average in those courses.

Paul Block Endowed Scholarship Fund
Recipients must be full-time undergraduate students with
financial need, studying one of the following disciplines: art history,
classics, English, foreign languages, history, humanities, music, philosophy
or theater. Scholarship is renewable as long as recipients maintain a
minimum GPA of 3.2.

Louise Bohm Memorial Scholarship
Recipient must be a direct descendent of
a UT graduate. Recipient must
maintain a minimum GPA of 2.8 or higher.

continues to meet the original criteria.

Jim and Betty Brennan Best Seat in the House Scholarship
Scholarship for an incoming freshman or current freshman
student based on strong academic performance and financial need.
Recipient must be enrolled full-time and be the first member of
his or her family to attend college. Prior applicants may
reapply. Recipients will be required to speak at one or
more Alumni Association dinners during the course of the year.
Applicants must have a current FAFSA (Free Application for
Financial Aid) on file in the Office of Student Financial Aid by
the application due date.

Robert F. Cavalear Scholarship
Scholarship for an
entering freshman who is an inner-city
student from Toledo, Ohio and has demonstrated financial need.
Applicants must have a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file
with the Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) by April 1. Recipients must demonstrate good
citizenship through extra-curricular activities and maintain full-time
enrollment each
semester at the University. This is a renewable scholarship based on the
attainment of the minimum standards in the student’s applicable major(s) or
academic program. This scholarship covers full tuition, fees and up to $666
annually for books and supplies. Application deadline is April 1.

Christian Leadership Program - Corpus Christi University
Parish
A $5000 scholarship ($1,000 the first year and for
continuing students $1,000 for the second and third year, and $2,000 for the
fourth year) is being offered to undergraduate Catholic students attending
The University of Toledo on a full-time basis. Scholarship recipients
must maintain a GPA of 2.8, be active in the Corpus Christi University
Parish (CCUP), and attend the prescribed classes and seminars (a commitment
of about two hours per week). Information and applications are
available in the parish office. All application material must be
submitted by the beginning of the respective fall semester.

Susanna L. Clement Scholarship Fund
Scholarship for an entering freshman majoring in studio art,
art history, or art education. Student must show exceptional promise of
creative ability and/or academic excellence. Two additional upper class
awards are made annually upon submission of transcripts and portfolio
review.

College of Engineering Merit Scholarship Fund
Scholarship for an entering freshman in the College of
Engineering who is qualified as an outstanding student. This
scholarship is renewable until the student graduates, so long as the student
maintains a 3.0 GPA.

Cristoforo Colombo Scholarship
Fund
Scholarships for incoming
undergraduate UT students of Italian descent. Recipients
may be graduates from any high school in Northwest Ohio or
the surrounding area. Applicants will be required to supply
an essay that describes their Italian descent. The
recipients must have and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
This scholarship is not based on financial need. The
scholarship is automatically renewable if the recipients
continue to meet the criteria. Deadline for application is
April 1 of each year.

William Cooke Memorial Scholarship Fund
Scholarships for graduates of
the Toledo Public
School system. Applicants may be in any undergraduate class level and in any
area of study. Entering freshman and continuing UT students are eligible to apply. Must
be enrolled full-time. Scholarship is based on merit and need. Past recipients may
reapply. Applicants must have a Free Application for Federal Student Aid

Dean’s Freshman Honor / Engineering Scholarship
Scholarships for entering freshmen with a declared
major in engineering. Students should have excelled in math and
science and have a minimum GPA of 3.5.

Sara Jane Dehoff Art Scholarship
Scholarship for female entering freshmen at UT who plan to
major in the visual arts. Candidates shall submit a portfolio (slide
or video). Scholarship is based on financial need. It will be
offered for a four-year period with the provision that the recipient
maintain a 3.0 GPA.

Scholarships for an African-American freshman student who is
a Toledo area high school graduate.

Andrew J. and Mary Frances Fenady
Scholarship for entering
freshmen at The University of Toledo who are graduates
of Woodward High School or Notre Dame Academy in
Toledo, Ohio. Scholarship will be awarded to applicants
with the most improved academic performance from the
freshman to senior year in high school, as determined by
the high school counselors and the UT Office of
Undergraduate Admission. Recipients may be enrolled in
any course of study at UT. Scholarship does not
require financial need. Students are automatically
considered. No application is required.

Scholarship Fund
Scholarship for undergraduates, including
entering freshmen. Preference will be given to graduates of St. Francis de
Sales, Central Catholic, Notre Dame, St. John's, or St. Ursula High Schools in
Toledo. Preference will also be given to those with involvement in campus
activities and employment. Applicants must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Scholarship for an entering freshman enrolled in the College
of Engineering. Must be a graduate from a Sylvania high school with an
earned GPA of 3.2 or better and have demonstrated financial need.

Irene Ambers Hill Scholarship Fund
Scholarship for a female student enrolled in a program
leading to a teaching career in the College of Education. Must be a Toledo
area high school graduate in the top half of her class and in need of
financial aid.

Education Scholarship Fund
Recipients shall be entering
freshman in the College of Education at UT. Scholarship is
based on financial need, and preference is to be given, if
possible, to students with juvenile diabetes. Scholarship is
renewable for sophomore, junior, and senior years if the
student maintains a 2.75 GPA.

International Business Scholarships
Scholarships for full-time entering freshmen who
declare pre-International Business as their major.
Awards: $500-$5,000 for the first year
may be renewed at varying amounts for next three years.

Industrial Power Systems, Inc. Scholarship
Scholarship for an incoming or
continuing student in the department of engineering
technology. The recipient shall have a minimum 2.8 GPA
on a 4.0 scale. First preference shall be to employees
of IPS and/or members of the union construction trades
and/or their immediate family members (spouse, children, or
grandchildren), provided that all other criteria is met.
Preference will be given to students majoring in
construction engineering technology; then electrical
engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology,
or computer science and engineering technology. This
scholarship is not automatically renewable, but previous
recipients may reapply.

Dr. Julius H. Jacobson II Scholarship Fund
Scholarships for entering freshmen or other undergraduate
students enrolled in the pre-med program. Recipients shall have and maintain
a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher. Entering freshmen must have a minimum GPA of
3.0 or equivalent and an ACT score of 25 or higher. This scholarship is
based on need and is renewable.

Raymond H. Kiefer Scholarship
Applicants must
be U.S. citizens and be
enrolled full-time at The University of Toledo. Must be an incoming freshman. The intent of the scholarship is to enable a student to attend college who
may not have the financial means to do so. Applicants must have a Free

Kinsey Determination Scholarship for the College of
Business
Scholarship for full-time undergraduate students in the
College of Business. Each recipient shall be a male student with a
single mother and shall have lived the majority of his life without the
presence of a father or male guardian. Scholarship shall be based on
financial need. Recipient must have a current Free Application for
Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file with the Office of Student Financial Aid
(OSFA), including the completed IRS 1040 form. Personal achievement
and strong principles are also considered when selecting a recipient.

Fund
Scholarship for full-time or part-time
entering freshmen and continuing students. Traditional and non-traditional
students may apply. Recipients will be graduates of Waite or Libbey high
schools in Toledo, Ohio. Financial
need will be considered and a 2.5 GPA or higher is preferred. Applicants must have a Free Application

Frank & Hazel Larimer Charitable Trust for The
University of Toledo
Scholarship recipients shall be entering freshmen in the
College of Education with first preference given to students from Northwest
Ohio, then students from Ohio, and finally students from the rest of the
United States. Recipients shall be citizens of the United States. Recipients shall be honor students who have scored above 1200 on the SAT or
above 27 on the ACT or equivalent tests. Scholarship shall be
renewable.

Latinos del Futuro -
Latino Student Union Future Leader Scholarship
This is a one-time scholarship
award for a Hispanic or Latino student. Recipient shall be a
full-time incoming freshman at The University of Toledo with a
minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The
recipient must maintain a minimum cumulative college GPA of 3.0 on a
4.0 scale during the award period. Applicants must submit a
500-word essay on their expectations for future leadership on UT's
campus, within the Latino Student Union, and the Latino community.
Applicants should provide a list of all community involvement and
volunteer activities in their essay. Applicants must include
an official high school transcript and one letter of recommendation
with their application. This scholarship is based on financial
need. Applicants must have a Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file in the Office of Student Financial Aid
(OSFA) by April 1.

Levis
Leadership UT Scholarship
Based on the
philosophy that "leaders are made, not born," Levis
Leadership UT is a selective program that enhances and
nurtures leadership development within its curriculum.
Forty incoming freshman students selected for the program
have the option to participate up to four years. To be
eligible for the Levis Leadership UT Program, student must
have a minimum 3.0 cumulative high school GPA, a 20 ACT
composite or 940 SAT combined reading and math score and
demonstrated potential for leadership exhibited through high
school honors, activities, community service, etcetera.
Upon acceptance to the program, students will receive a
$1,000 scholarship toward their first academic year. The
scholarship may be renewed at varying amounts for the next
three years, based on the recipient's involvement in the
Levis Leadership UT Program.
Students who
participate in the Levis Leadership UT Program have the
opportunity to participate in many unique experiences. Some
of the features of the Levis Leadership UT Program include:

courses that embrace in-depth interaction between
students and instructors.

Innovative speakers who
present information such as time management, conflict
resolution, creative leadership techniques and much
more.

Retreats that enhance
teamwork and leadership development.

Scholarship for graduating seniors from
Central Catholic High School in Toledo, Ohio or Cardinal Stritch High School in
Oregon, Ohio. Applicants should have a 3.0 GPA and may be enrolled in any
college or qualified major at The University of Toledo. Preference will be
given to students in extracurricular and/or community activities and those who
demonstrate financial need. The scholarship is renewable provided recipients
maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and continue to meet the financial need
requirements. Applicants must have a Free Application for Federal Student

Fund
Scholarship for
full-time entering freshmen or transfer students from
community colleges, with preference given first to students
from Northern Ohio and second from Southeast
Michigan. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or higher,
demonstrate involvement in extracurricular or community
activities, and be U.S. citizens. Applicants must be
majoring in one of the following areas: (1) science in the
College of Education (2) natural science in the College of
Arts and Sciences (3) business in the College of Business

Scholarship
The Minority Alumni Affiliate
Scholarship is for minority students who
will be attending The University of
Toledo on a part-time or a full-time
basis. Entering freshmen and
undergraduate students are invited to
apply. A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
is preferred. Applicants must have a

Application for Federal Student Aid

The Virgil L. and Mildred J. Molyet Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship for full-time female students majoring in
Electrical Engineering. Applicants should be entering freshmen with a
3.0 GPA at the time of high school graduation, or University of Toledo

Scholarship for entering freshmen
with high school GPA's of 3.0 and an intent to major in Civil
Engineering. Priority given to U.S. citizens who are residents of
Ohio. Scholarship will pay for in-state
tuition and any necessary academic fees and books. Renewable as long
as recipients maintain a 3.0 GPA and remain Civil Engineering majors in good
standing.

Scholarship for incoming graduates of
Libbey High School, Toledo, Ohio who are enrolled in a four year
baccalaureate program. The recipient must have completed four
semesters of Family and Consumer Science (FCS) classes at Libbey
High School. The recipient shall be determined by the
Counselor at Libbey High School.

Scholarship Fund
Recipients must be entering freshmen at The
University of Toledo. First preference will be given to graduates of Scott High
School in Toledo, Ohio. The recipient must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher
on a 4.0 grading system. The scholarship is based on financial need. Application deadline is April 1.

Keytack Henry Oh & Mariel Thorp Scholarship Fund
Scholarships for entering freshmen majoring in industrial
engineering. Recipients must have a high school GPA of 3.5 or above and demonstrate
financial need. The award is renewable until the student graduates or as
long as the individual continues as a full-time student and maintains a 3.3
GPA.

Ohio Academic Scholarship
Scholarships for entering freshmen throughout the State of
Ohio sponsored and awarded by The Ohio Board of Regents. Based on academic
achievement. Students must be full-time and must maintain a minimum GPA of
2.0 to retain the scholarship.

Russell Clare Perry Memorial Scholarship in Mechanical
Engineering
Scholarship for full-time students who are entering
freshmen majoring in mechanical engineering in the College of
Engineering. Recipients must have maintained a high school GPA of
3.3 or higher. Scholarship may be renewable if recipients maintain a
GPA which will qualify for graduation with honors from the College
of Engineering and they are making normal progress toward
completion of their degree.

Lynwood H. Porter Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship available to qualified incoming freshmen with
the intention of entering the mechanical engineering field or a qualified
student who has been admitted to mechanical engineering. Must complete 30

given to students from the Toledo Public School District.

Dion Raftopoulos Bioengineering Scholarship Fund
Scholarship for an entering freshman in The University of Toledo's College of Engineering
accepted to the department of Bioengineering. The recipient will be the student with the highest high school GPA. Only students with a 3.5 or greater GPA on a 4.0 scale and minimum score of
28 on the ACT exam or the equivalent SAT score will be considered.

Dean William McKendrie Reed Scholarship
Scholarships are offered annually to outstanding freshmen in
the College of Pharmacy by the College of Pharmacy Alumni Affiliate in
memory of the college’s first dean, William McKendrie Reed, who served from
1904-1937. Scholarship applications will be mailed to eligible
entering freshmen who have been admitted to the College of Pharmacy.

Arthur Lee Roach Memorial Scholarship
The Arthur Lee Roach
Scholarship is available to a minority student who will be
enrolled full-time at The University of Toledo in a health care
field. Entering freshmen as well as undergraduate UT students
are invited to apply. Recipients will be chosen on the basis of
professional goals, financial need, academic merit and community
involvement. Applicants are to have a current Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file in the
Office of Student Financial Aid by March 1. The $1,000 Roach
Scholarship will be matched with $1,000 from the University of
Toledo for a total scholarship value of $2,000. Application
deadline is March 1.

The recipients shall be selected from among the graduating

Scholarship Fund
Scholarship for entering freshmen with a high school GPA of
at least 3.5 and an intent to major in Engineering. Priority shall be given
to minority and female graduates of greater Toledo area school systems and
dependents of colleagues employed by AVCA Corporation and its subsidiaries.
Scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient maintains a 3.0
GPA and remains a major in good standing in the College of

Danyi Szuch Scholarship Fund
Scholarships for full-time UT
students with first preference given to graduates of Clay,
Cardinal Stritch or Waite high schools. The donors may select
qualified graduates from other high schools at their
discretion. Recipients must have an overall GPA of 2.8 or
higher and must maintain that average to be eligible for
renewal. Applicants will be required to complete an
application, submit a resume outlining their activities while
in high school, and write a one page essay describing how they
might give back to their communities through involvement during
their college careers. The scholarship is renewable for three
additional years provided the recipient continues to meet the

Mandell Vasquez, Inc. Scholarship Fund
Scholarship for an entering freshman with a high school GPA
of 3.5 or higher and an intent to major in Engineering. Recipients must be
graduates of one of six elementary schools under the Central City Ministries
service umbrella: Queen of Apostles, Rosary Cathedral, St. Hyacinth,
St. Martin de Porres, St. Elizabeth Seton, and St. Mary. In addition,
priority will be given to Hispanic applicants and/or dependents of employees
of Mandell Vasquez, Inc. Applicants are required to write an essay as
to why they want or need this scholarship. Volunteerism in the
community will also be considered. Renewable as long as recipient
maintains a 3.0 GPA and remains a major in good standing in the College of

Willard I. Webb III Scholarship Fund
Recipients of this scholarship shall be U.S. citizens from
the National City Corporation territories (Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky,
and Pennsylvania) who are National City Bank, Northwest employee dependents.
Recipients shall be undergraduate students, including entering freshmen,
less than 25 years old. Recipient must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 or
higher. Financial need, community or campus involvement, and employment will
be considered. One typed letter of recommendation from a person familiar
with the applicant’s academic abilities is required. Students are encouraged
to submit up to two additional letters of recommendation addressing either
personal qualities or academic ability. Previous recipients may reapply.

Joseph L. Wolcott Scholarship Fund
Loan for full-time undergraduate students. Applicants
must be graduates of Toledo Public high schools, Toledo, Ohio. Applicants are required to file a Free Application of Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA) no later than February 29. If a borrower repays one-half the
amount borrowed within two years of graduation or termination of full-time
college education, the remaining one-half is forgiven. If these terms
are not met, the entire loan remains payable with interest.
