The scholarship application for continuing students in the College of Engineering is currently available online at www.eng.utoledo.edu/scholarships.html. The application is completed online, printed, and submitted to the college. Application deadline is January 30, 2008. Questions may be directed to Dr. Brian Randolph at brian.randolph@utoledo.edu. Note: All need-based scholarships require that a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) be on file by April 1. College of
Engineering Alumni Affiliate Scholarship
The Engineering Alumni Affiliate Scholarship is for engineering majors who will be attending The University of Toledo full-time or part-time for the 2008-2009 academic year. Undergraduate and graduate students are invited to apply. A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher is preferred. Applicants are to have a 2008-2009 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file in the Office of Student Financial Aid by February 29, 2008. Recipients will be chosen on the basis of financial need, academic merit, and community involvement. Esther Anderson Memorial Scholarship Scholarship for undergraduate students majoring in computer sciences. Scholarship based primarily on financial need, however, applicants must meet minimum academic requirements of a 2.5 GPA.

Elmer R. and Gertrude M. Bringham Scholarship in Engineering Recipients must be Engineering students. Criteria includes merit and need. Scholarship is renewable with a 3.3 GPA or higher. Application deadline is January 31st. Contact: Office of Undergraduate Studies, College of Engineering.
The Capacity in Design and Construction Engineering Scholarship Fund Shall be incoming freshmen, qualified transfers or graduates from an accredited two-year associate of applied science degree program in engineering technology must be admitted to a bachelor of science in engineering or bachelor of science in engineering technology degree program. Shall be disadvantaged minority students with preference given to residents of the Toledo standard metropolitan area. Students must maintain a minimum 2.7 GPA.
College of Engineering Merit Scholarship Fund Scholarship for an entering freshman in the College of Engineering who is qualified as an outstanding student. This scholarship is renewable until the student graduates, so long as the student maintains a 3.0 GPA. Contact: Office of Undergraduate Studies, College of Engineering.
CSX Diversity Scholarship Recipients must be rising juniors or seniors at UT majoring in one of the following disciplines: mechanical, civil, industrial or electrical engineering. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Scholarship is not based on financial need. Diverse candidates are preferred. Students must show evidence of interest and aptitude in the railroad/transportation industry. Relevant work experience, student organization participation and leadership experience is requested. Eligible students will be required to submit a cover letter and two letters of recommendation.
Associate Dean’s Freshman Honor / Engineering Scholarship Scholarships for entering freshmen with a declared major in Engineering. Gary W. Driftmyer Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to electrical or mechanical engineering students at The University of Toledo. Award is based equally on need and merit. May be renewable.
Dunbar Mechanical, Inc., Scholarship Fund Scholarship for sophomore, junior or senior Engineering students with preference given to Mechanical Engineering majors. Recipients must have graduated from a Northwest Ohio or Southeast Michigan high school with a preference given to students from Northwest Ohio. Students must have and maintain a GPA of 3.0. This scholarship is based on financial need including support of non-traditional students returning to complete a degree. Two equal scholarships awarded annually. Electronic Concepts & Engineering, Inc. Scholarship Fund Recipient must be enrolled in bachelor's program in the College of Engineering, majoring in Computer Science Engineering, or Electronic Engineering Technology. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Must b a U.S. citizen, with preference given to Ohio high school graduates. GEM Industrial Engineering Scholarship Recipients shall be students in the College of Engineering with preference given to mechanical or Electrical Engineering majors. John E. Harlan Memorial Scholarship Fund Scholarship for an entering freshman with financial need and a minimum high school GPA of 3.2. Kenneth A. Harris Memorial Engineering Scholarship Scholarship for UT students who are graduates of an Ohio high school and have a minimum GPA of 3.25. Applicants must have participated in a varsity sport in high school, with preference given to a student who lettered in a sport. Applicants must demonstrate community service and/or have held a student government position in high school. Applicants must have a declared major in engineering at UT. Society of Plastic Engineers - Toledo Section Scholarship Scholarship is for employees of a plastics-related company (in the plastic industry, such as resin supplier, converter, plastic-processing machine manufacturer, consultant to plastic industry, etc.) who are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree to advance their career within the company or for undergraduate or graduate students at The University of Toledo who are pursuing a degree in either mechanical, industrial and manufacturing engineering or chemical and environmental engineering. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid or through the extent of the students' responsibility for paying for their own school expenses. Applicants must submit an essay describing their career paths or goals in the plastic industry, as well as contact information for two non-relative references.
SSOE Inc. CO-OP / Intern Excellence Scholarship This scholarship is for students who have cooped or interned with SSOE.
SSOE, Inc. Minority and Female Scholarship Fund Scholarship for entering freshmen with high school GPA of at least 3.5 and an intent to major in Engineering. Priority shall be given to minority and female graduates of greater Toledo area school systems and dependents of colleagues employed by SSOE Inc. Technical Society of Toledo Scholarship The Technical Society of Toledo, in 1979, established a series of six scholarships in support of students in the Engineering related fields. UCATC receives one of these annually (February) for a second year student working toward a degree in the physical sciences, the applied physical sciences or math. Awards based on merit (GPA of 3.3), work experience, student activities and a statement of career goals. Application deadline is January 31st. The recipient must be active in the various A.S.M.E. functions such as attendance at meetings, tours, and other events that A.S.M.E. participates in. The recipient's grade point average will be taken into account but the award places more value on the involvement of the student with A.S.M.E. rather than academic achievement. The recipient's involvement in other activities at The University of Toledo will also be taken into account: such as Pi Tau Sigma, Student Union Board, etc. The award is non-renewable. Students wishing to apply for the A.S.M.E. Award must submit an application by February 15th each year to the A.S.M.W. student section executive committee. Russell Clare Perry Memorial Scholarship in Mechanical Engineering Scholarship for full-time students who are entering freshmen majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Recipients must have maintained a high school GPA of 3.3 or higher. Scholarship may be renewable if recipients maintain a GPA which will qualify for graduation with honors from the College of Engineering and if they are making normal progress toward completion of their degree. Lynwood H. Porter Memorial Scholarship Scholarship available to qualified incoming freshmen with the intention of entering the Mechanical Engineering field or a qualified student who has been admitted to Mechanical Engineering.
